If you have never owned a black corset, a black latex jump suit, worn black nail polish, worn black boots, and have never ever dyed your hair black, then you have no business being a girl watching this film. If you have never owned a black corset, a black latex jump suit, worn black nail polish, worn black boots, and have never ever dyed your hair black, then you have no business being a girl watching this film. Unless of course you are young and wear white, have pale complexion, and lips that are so bee stung and blood red that you have used up half the bees in an average hive and own shares in the Dior cosmetics company. Or you are a guy who is square jawed and have the propensity to bulk up like Hulk shred your clothes and prey on the two women.
Because this is Underworld, where everything is dark and wet and the soundtrack too makes you want to go to the restroom ever so often (the constant drip, drip drip of some water underground is a tad unnerving)
That said, let me tell you again that this is a teenage movie for girls going through 'I wish I were Kate' phase, or 'I want to be vampire in this movie so Robert Pattinson from another movie would kiss me someday' phase. Or boys who spent the entire length of the movie wondering how to take that latex body suit off the heroine, and have to see the movie again in order to pay attention to the story.
In this part of the Underworld franchise, Kate in the latex suit has rescued a young girl, who turns out to be her daughter. Manmohan Desai would have been chuffed at watching this lost child finds mother and mother explains: It is not that I don't have space in my heart for you. It is just that my heart is broken...
So the wily lycans have managed to infiltrate and take over a genetics lab and mutated into silver bullet resistant species (relax! This is hardly a spolier, because the boys will be too busy ogling at Kate, and the girls too busy going through corset envy). Kate has to save her daughter and in the process convert lots of sharp toothed ugly as hell lycans into shredded tandoori chicken (please readers, find me a better description).
I must confess, I too would need to see this movie again because I kept checking her face closely to see when she was breathing. Kate is awesome in a corset. The director made it a difficult thing to do because her hair was covering up half the face. If you do not like warewolves and wish to see them torn apart by beautiful teenaged girl with bee-stung lips, then this movie is amazing. If you are looking at anything intellectual in a story where action sequences are held together by a corset, then maybe you will be disappointed.
