S. Ramanathan wanted to start the movie as early as 1986 but it was shelved for "unknown" reasons. Ten years later it was decided to work on the movie again.
The makers were considering changing the movies title to "Godfather", but thought better of it.
The film was launched in mid1996 and has been put on hold for numerous reasons, varying from Karisma Kapoors attitude, to the makers running into financial crisis.
