Genre: Action
Starring: John Abraham, Genelia D Souza, Raj Babbar, Mohnish Bahl
Mini Review:
It’s got muscle. It’s got pace. Action that keeps going at a rate that does not put you off by the blood and the gore shown. And romance to balance it.
Inevitably John Abraham will be compared with the South superstar Suriya, as this is a remake of the movie that made him famous:...

Inevitably John Abraham will be compared with the South superstar Suriya, as this is a remake of the movie that made him famous: Kaakha Kaakha. But he holds his own, methinks. Thankfully the action sequences are realistic rather than the comicbook kick someone across the floor, shove someone into a multiple spin, punches that send men flying into the air. It is fist into face kind of action and it satisfies this weird part inside of you that needs heroes who can put fist on face and convincingly so.
John Abraham is a part of the elite anti narcotics squad who wipe out drug selling gangs with the help of a consultant. But then there’s always one that does not go away, isn’t it?
Well that’s what the whole movie is about and although you think you have seen it all in a cop and drug smuggler movie, you can think again, as this movie offers many surprises.
One of them is Vidyut Jamwal, debuting in his role as the villain in the movie. Not since Amrish Puri have you felt so repulsed and yet attracted by a villain. The young lad is good looking and has a body to match. He has a weak dialog delivery (seems to grind his teeth as he speaks) and has an odd walk. Apparently he has performed all the fight scenes in the movie without the help of any harnesses and cables. Hmm... Well done, in that case, the lad has done good!
But the best part of the movie, apart from the action, that is, is Genelia. She plays the chirpy love interest of a gruff, rough John Abraham so well, you watch her with a smile on her face. And she’s lovely in the movie.
Nishikant Kamat has managed to pull off a commercial flick. Take a bow. And y’all go see the film. It’s a full on paisa wasool!
Force is a romantic – action film that revolves around Yashvardhan John Abraham who is a hard-headed senior narcotics officer who doesn't play by the book but always ensures that justice is served. He believes that the only way to eradicate crime is to give criminals the bullet - not hand cuffs. In the midst of his most dangerous and significant operation to crack down on India's drug cartels, Yashvardhan encounters a ruthless enemy who will stop at nothing until he gets his revenge for the damage done to his business by the narcotics team. He also meets...
moreWith FORCE, John Abraham re-visits the genre action that he attempted in DHOOM. He has the physique and the persona to carry off the part and make the character believable. Remake of the Tamil hit KAAKHA KAAKHA, which starred Suriya and Jyothika, FORCE packs the punches, the kicks, the blood and the bruises in those two hours.
read full reviewFORCE is handled well. It has a good storyline, some breathtaking action, cosy moments and a grand finale. He has you gripped with his confident body language and fearless portrayal of a man on a mission.
read full reviewWhat’s Good: The action and stunts; the songs; the acting. What’s Bad: The seemingly uni-dimensional nature of the film; absence of emotions and comedy; the sidelining of the romantic track.
read full reviewFilms like Force work purely for superficial reasons. A lot of it, which is generated from the leading man's explosive, nonconformist and unconquerable personality, makes implausible seem fun whereas ridiculous transcends into larger-than-life. It's a theory as simple and silly as that. John Abraham has the physicality but not the chops to deliver what it takes.
read full reviewForce is a heady cocktail of high powered action and breezy romance that ensure there's never a dull moment.
read full reviewThe film goes from a legitimate thriller to a typical revenge drama without much warning, when Abraham's character, ACP Yashwardhan, and his anti-narcotics unit take out a major drugs kingpin in a carefully planned operation, but fail to account for his bloodthirsty brother.
read full reviewJohn the Rambo belongs to a crack team of the narcotics bureau. He’s devoted his life to dismantling drug cartels that operate across the country, spreading the menace of mandrax, heroin, cocaine.
read full reviewThe mood remains grim almost throughout the film, the tension on the surface, and the screenplay moves rapidly.Another in a string of remakes lately -- Singham, Ready, Bodyguard -- Kamat’s distinct touch makes Force somehow stand out in the crowd.
