The anticipation of zombies appearing on the screen is scarier than the zombies themselves. You are grossed out by the flesh eating undead people but once they appear on screen you cannot help but grin at the ghastliness of their appearance. It’s the moment before they appear that is screamful.

Madhumati by Bimal Roy had one of the scariest scenes. The scene where Madhumati confronts Ugranarayan (Pran) towards the end was one of the most chilling scenes in Hindi films. I remember not being able to sleep for days after. OSO had the same ending. not as chilling. but spooky..
