His first movie was Thayavva and then he played a supportive role in the movie Prathyartha directed by Sunil Kumar Desai. He then acted in a movie called Sparshawhich was also directed by Sunil Kumar Desai and it is the first movie of Sudeep where he is seen in a lead role. In 2003, Sudeep acted in a hit film Huccha which gave him a big fan following.
He acted in a serial Premada Tuturi directed by Sudhakar Tamburi which was aired on Udaya TV, before he went on to act in his home production Sparsha directed by Sunil Kumar Desai
