Jamie Harrold was born and raised in Taylorville, Illinois. His father was a cross-country truck driver, as was his grandfather. His mother came from a long line of coal miners, (his oldest brother mines). He graduated from The Academy (Chicago's High School for the Arts) and received his B.F.A. from The Theatre School at DePaul University.
