Born March 14, 1965, Aamir Khan is often considered the finest actor in Bollywood cinema. He was singing and dancing on-screen from childhood, starting with the 1973 hit Yaadon Ki Baaraat. In his teens, he switched from acting to tennis, becoming the state champion of Maharashtra.Khan returned to performing and acting in films in the '80s, scoring a big success with 1988's Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. He has given critically acclaimed performances in Dil, Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke, Ghulam, Sarfarosh and Earth. Contrary to the usual process of Indian actors working on several films simultaneously, Khan insists on prior script approval and doing only one film at a time. He and equally famous Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai are the only stars to have appeared in both Coca-Cola and Pepsi ads in Asia.
