Abbas Alibhai Burmawalla is known for directing films in the thriller and action genres. He along with his brother Mustan has come out with some of the big chart busters of Bollywood film industry. They have made notable films like Baazigar, Baadshah, Taarzan: The Wonder Car, 36 China Town and Race.
Abbas,Mustan and their third brother name is Hussain Burmawalla they all from Surat. Their family business was Furniture Business but Abbas-Mustan want to do something different in life so they met their uncle S.D Kura who used to do film editing in Hindi Movies He advised to join first film editing then go for film direction. Then Gradually they join Sultan Ahmad as assistant director who was directing Saugandh movie 1978 and they also joined as assistant director with Mehul Kumar they did few films and then when Mehul Kumar refused Gujarati film "Sajan Tara Sambharana" (1985), then Abbas-Mustan got chance to do first film as Director and it was super hit film and after the Abbas-Mustan's film journey began...

They also started their own Production House called "Burmawalla Partners".
