She married Bollywood actor, Pankaj Kapoor. They have a son, Bollywood actor, Shahid Kapoor. They divorced when Shahid Kapoor was 3 years old.
In 2007, She married for the second time, to the singer Ustad Raza Ali Khan, a classical singer. He is the son of Ustad Munawar Ali Khan and the great-grandson of the legendary classical vocalist, Bade Ghulam Ali Khan.
Azeem has majored in Indian classical dance - Kathak), and is known in India for her TV shows. She also worked in Hindi movie, Sadak opposite Deepak Tijori.
