Vivek Anand Oberoi born 3 September 1976 in Hyderabad is an Indian actor and social activist. He is the son of Bollywood actor Suresh Oberoi and Yashodhara.Vivek Oberoi debuted in Ram Gopal Varma's film Company. He received Filmfare Awards for Best Debut as well as Best Supporting Actor. He then starred in the action films, Road and Dum. In Dum, he played the role of a man trying to become a part of Indian police but faces many troubles with a police inspector named Encounter Shankar, and finally kills him.Next, he starred in Saathiya (2002) directed by Shaad Ali, and in the comedy Masti (2004). In 2004, he starred in Yuva.In 2006, he appeared in Omkara, an adaptation of Shakespeare's play Othello. He played the character of Kesu based on the character Michael Cassio in the original play. In 2007, he apologized to Salman Khan at the Rajiv Gandhi Awards function at the Jamshed Bhabha Theatre.Later, in 2010, he again publicly apologized to Salman Khan through Star News, for calling that press conference, and called it an immature step of a 24 year old boy.On 29 October 2010, Oberoi married Priyanka Alva, the daughter of Karnataka minister Jeevaraj Alva at Bangalore.
