Krishna Ghattamaneni

Krishna was born on May 31, 1943 in Burripalem, a village that is close to Tenali, Andhra Pradesh. His parents are Ghatamaneni Veeraraghavayya Chowdhary and Ghatamaneni Nagaratnamma.

In 1995, he married Indira and the couple have five children-Ramesh Babu, Mahesh Babu, Padmavati, Priyadarshani, and Manjula. Later he married Vijaya Nirmala, an actress and director, with whom he has worked in several films.


Aduriti Subbarao's Taena Manasulu (1965) was his first film. He appeared opposite actress Sukanya in this film. One of his films, Mosagallaku Mosagadu, was a superhit which was screened in 125 countries and was also dubbed in English.He owns the production house, Padmalaya Studios in Hyderabad. Krishna produced and appeared in hit Bollywood films like Himmatwala and Pataal Bhairavi (1985). Kanthaaswamy (2009) is his latest release.Krishna was the Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Eluru constituency for one year and he had friendly relations with Rajiv Gandhi. In 2003,...
