Carole Raphaelle Davis was born in London on February 17th in 1958 to a French mother and American father. She is tri-lingual and a citizen of the US and the EU. She grew up in England, Scotland, Hawaii, France, Italy and Thailand and moved to New York City as a teenager. Carole went to City University of New York and majored in Chinese Studies and Political Science. After University she attended the two-year program at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute. Carole modeled for Playboy Magazine, was Pet of the month in 1980 (under the name Tamara) and Pet of the Year runner-up for Penthouse Magazine in 1981. She recorded her own version of the song for Warner Brothers records. She subsequently left Warners in 1993 and moved to Atlantic Records, where she self-produced and wrote the album "I'm No Angel." As a song-writer, Carole made a publishing deal, signing with MCA. She was signed to Sony France for Europe.Davis is also a writer. Her script "Amnesia of the Heart" was bought by DreamWorks. She also co-wrote animated series for Klasky-Scupo "Mean Girls." Carole wrote a series of articles on anti-Semitism in Europe for The Jewish Journal. As a novelist, she is the author of critically acclaimed "The Diary of Jinky, Dog of a Hollywood Wife," a non-fiction humor book about Hollywood excess and human status anxiety written from the point of view of a death-row dog. She is an investigative journalist for American Dog Magazine for which she has written a series of articles about cruelty in the pet trade. She is a contributor to Animal Wellness Magazine, FetchDog.com, Fido Friendly Magazine and has appeared numerous times on CNN as an animal welfare contributor. Carole has an animal welfare column on Newsvine.com and is the author of a popular Hollywood Dog blog.Carole is the West coast Director of the Companion Animal Protection Society, a national non-profit organization that investigates puppy mills and pet stores. She leads the anti-puppy mill movement in Los Angeles.Carole is married to Emmy Award winning comedy writer Kevin Rooney and lives in Los Angeles and Nice, France with their four pound dogs.

Collins' Instant Theatre Company produced her script "Papa's Angels" at The Highlands Studio for the Arts in December of 1987. The script went through years of extensive re-writes before it became a full length play. It won the "Best Play of the Year Award" at The Grand Olde Players Theatre in Omaha, Nebraska two years running before Samuel French, Inc. published the play. The book, which is based on the play, was published by New World Library. CBS optioned Papa's Angels for a television movie starring Scott Bakula and Cynthia Nixon which aired in December of 2000.Three adopted children (siblings abandoned by their mother) with Horne: Kimberly and William Horne, Michael G. Paxton.Turned her North Carolina theater space to the local Obama presidential campaign.Married three times.Studied drama at the University of Tennessee.Born in Cincinnati, she was raised in Highlands, North Carolina.Both she and her "Mockingbird" co-star, Brock Peters were involved in the civil rights movement and NAACP.Her play "Papa's Angels" was made into a film for CBS starring Scott Bakula and Cynthia Nixon.Husband Scott Paxton was 18 years her junior.
